Production/commercial greenhouse
Production/commercial greenhouse
For The Royal Parks, we realized Hyde Park Nursery, a state-of-the-art production facility dedicated to growing the flowers, plants, and shrubs that adorn London's eight Royal Parks each year. The nursery produces more than 450,000 plants annually and supports the creation of the world-famous flower displays in locations including Hyde Park, St James’s Park, and the surroundings of Buckingham Palace.
Complete turnkey project from design to delivery
This was a fully turnkey project. Our expertise was integrated throughout every project phase: study, concept, design, manufacturing, technical installations, construction, finishing, and maintenance.
The project includes a 6,700 m² Cabrio production greenhouse and a 400 m² multifunctional service building, resulting in a total surface area of 7,100 m².
In addition to the greenhouse structure, we also carried out the earthworks and installed all technical systems.
Advanced technologies for maximum growing performance
The greenhouse is divided into thirteen computer-controlled climate zones, enabling optimal growing conditions to be created for each plant variety and growth stage.
The technical installations include:
Innovative cabrio technology
Thanks to the fully retractable greenhouse roof, young plants can be naturally hardened off without being moved to outdoor locations. The system automatically opens and closes according to weather conditions, resulting in a more efficient cultivation process, reduced labour requirements, and optimal use of available space.
For the roof and side façades, 4 mm tempered glass was selected, providing maximum light transmission and long-term durability.
Sustainable technology
Sustainability played a central role throughout both the design and execution of this project. The nursery operates entirely peat-free and maximizes the use of rainwater harvesting and groundwater extraction to achieve efficient water management.
Thanks to its modern infrastructure, The Royal Parks can carry out a large portion of its plant production in-house, significantly reducing transportation movements, energy consumption, and waste streams.
A benchmark project for modern horticulture
This project combines innovative greenhouse technology, integrated technical installations, and sustainable solutions to create a future-oriented growing environment. The facility contributes to the exceptional floral and plant displays enjoyed annually by millions of visitors to London’s Royal Parks.
