Benmore Botanic Garden

Realisation info

Description

Technical description

This installation was undertaken in a remote and challenging forest location with very difficult access. The maintenance gantry that echoes the curved shape of the roof was an integral part of the design process. With its curved steel structure and faceted glass, this barrel vaulted roof is unique: a special commission in an enchanting location.

Context

The world-famous 'Benmore Botanic Garden' in Scotland required all our expertise in the construction of a collection greenhouse for rare plants. The new roof was fixed to the original fernery walls that are over 200 years old. These walls were fully restored as part of the project.
